Hello!
I'm Katherine, curator, grower & gatherer here at The Bulb Shed which is located in the flower garden at my home in the hamlet of South Hay near Binsted, Hampshire.
I grew up in a small rural village where I collected wildflowers with Mum on our dog walks, we brought them home to press then created notebooks of our findings.
Summer holidays were spent staying with my grandparents helping them sow seeds and tend to their vegetable patches and listening to stories from Grandpa, of his prizewinning homegrown daffodils.
Tucked away in the drawer of a desk is my Great Grandmother's autograph book with a little watercolour, painted by Mum, of a girl, standing on a hill with armfuls of flowers, surrounded by farmland and wildflower meadows.
After a career organising events & bringing up our boys, an article in a magazine drew me back to the flowers.
Now at our home on a hill, surrounded by ancient woodlands and wildflower meadows, I tend to our flower garden to bring homegrown blooms to your tables. My arrangements are inspired by the natural landscapes which surround us & our flower garden is a hive of activity with bees, birds, butterflies, toads & worms.
The Bulb Shed is a member of Flowers from the Farm, a UK trade association promoting a financially & environmentally sustainable local cut flower industry.
